What we found

The brief for this fantastic redesign was to make the most of the generous unused floor space and create a coastal theme. The existing tired and dated en-suite was set in an extension with walk-in wardrobe off the main bedroom, so we needed to keep the two zones separate.

An added quirk was a glass window set in a low wall overlooking the landing which was visible from where the bath was sited. There was also an old-fashioned 60s style glass partition between the shower and wardrobe space.
To start, we removed the low wall and glass partition which created an even larger area for us to work with. Removing the bath completely and replacing the WC with a sleek rimless back to wall toilet with concealed cistern to create a massive wet room emphasises the feeling of space and light.
 

Storage solutions

The stylish vanity unit has two traditional drawers with a cleverly designed taller third drawer which provides space for those awkward larger bottles. The wall hung unit also gives the impression of more space underneath. Extra storage was created by adding a recessed shelf in the shower using brushed brass to match the other bathroom fitments.
 

Finishing touches

Concealed and recessed sensor-operated lighting gives a contemporary finish – we even added in some extra lighting on the step from the wardrobe area into the bathroom for safety.
To create the coastal feeling, we used some warm, neutral Almond Miro textured tiles for the walls with co-ordinated Almond floor tiles. A bright, spacious and modern bathroom that our client loves! In fact, we have now been briefed to transform their main family bathroom.
