Lytchett Matravers - A Spa-Like Retreat

Classic wet room renovation in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset

This Dorset countryside cottage bathroom was taken right back to brick, allowing us to rebuild the space with precision and ensure the wet room preparation was flawless. The existing bath was removed to make way for a much larger, family-friendly walk-in shower, while still retaining generous, well-integrated storage to suit everyday use.

A half-height shower shelf with beautifully mitred tile edges serves the purpose of accommodating essential toiletries, whilst transforming the textured tiles above into its own stunning feature. We illuminated this section of wall with an LED strip, encouraging shadows to form across the irregular surface of the tiles.

To achieve a cleaner, more refined finish, we carefully boxed out around original beams and awkward angled walls, creating smoother lines without losing the character of the property. A soft, neutral palette paired with textured stone-effect tiles and gentle LED lighting brings warmth and depth, while brushed nickel brassware adds a timeless, understated elegance. The result is a spacious, spa-like bathroom that feels both practical for family life and perfectly in keeping with its cottage setting.

Ashley Cross - Bright & Contemporary

En suite renovation in Ashley Cross, Poole

This en suite has been completely transformed while retaining the original layout. The space was stripped back to its shell to address significant damage caused by a previous leak, including repairing rotten walls and flooring. Rather than patching over existing issues, the project was approached as a full from-scratch installation, ensuring every element met our standards for quality, performance, and longevity.

Once fully restored, the room was rebuilt with updated, premium-quality fixtures and fittings throughout. We worked closely with the client at every stage of the design process, refining the details, finishes, and functionality to suit both their vision and the practical needs of the space. By reducing the furniture to slimline depth, we improved flow and usability, creating a brighter, more open en suite that maximises space, light, and comfort without altering the original footprint.

Lilliput – A Luxurious En-Suite Redesign

Modern en-suite wet room in Lilliput, Poole

In our latest project, we took a quirky en-suite—complete with a 60s-style glass partition and a strange low-wall window—and completely transformed it into a bright, spacious coastal haven. The brief was simple: maximise the generous unused floor space and bring in a fresh, relaxing vibe. By tearing down the old barriers and removing the bath entirely, we created a generously sized, luxurious wet room that completely changed the flow of the space. We paired natural stone effect feature tiles with stunning brushed brass fittings and plenty of wall-mounted storage to achieve a sleek, modern finish. We even integrated smart, sensor-operated safety lighting, which doubled as a clever way to separate the bathroom and lower level dressing area into ‘zones’.

Customer comments:

"Laura and Sam have been super helping us plan and then the quality of workmanship has been outstanding. We are super pleased with our new en-suite. Sam kept disruption to a minimum and it was so nice to see that each day of the work everything was tidied and dust etc kept to a minimum. First class service."

Lilliput – Natural, Textured Family Bathroom

A coastal-inspired family bathroom in Lilliput, Poole

We returned to the same beautiful coastal home to continue the theme of the brand new en-suite that our clients were so pleased with. While the brief was to keep the existing layout and plumbing in place, there was plenty of scope to bring this outdated family bathroom back to life.

After stripping out three layers of existing tiles, we opted for a different variation of the same textured, natural-effect tiles used in the en-suite, this time in a slightly darker shade for a warmer, more grounded feel.

Hard-wearing LVT flooring, generous cabinet and vanity storage and an enclosed showering space all help to make this a practical and functional family bathroom. That doesn’t mean it can’t feel calming and luxurious too. A statement semi-freestanding bath and subtle under-vanity lighting helped create a relaxing atmosphere, while an olive green vanity unit adds a welcome pop of colour and interest. The result is a warm, contemporary bathroom and another huge transformation!

Talbot Woods – Modern Bathroom with Heritage Details

Bathroom renovation in Talbot Woods, Bournemouth

This project transformed a dated, mismatched bathroom into a calm and elegant modern space with subtle heritage character. Over the years the original room had been updated in pieces, leaving the fixtures and finishes feeling disconnected and the overall design lacking cohesion. Our aim was to create a bathroom that felt balanced, relaxing and timeless while improving the room’s everyday functionality.

A soft, neutral palette was introduced to brighten the space and create a calm atmosphere, complemented by patterned feature tiles that add interest without overwhelming the design. Traditional brassware, a heritage-style toilet and a classic radiator bring warmth and personality, while a semi-freestanding bath and practical fitted furniture improve both the layout and usability of the room. The finished bathroom now feels cohesive, elegant and built to last.

Customer comments:

"We are so pleased with the way Eximia has transformed our bathroom from floor to ceiling, turning an outdated room into a modern, stylish bathroom.

The whole process, from booking through to completion, was clear and transparent. Each stage was explained and the project was completed on time and according to the original schedule.

Sam and Laura have been delightful to work with. They have guided us through the whole design process, even using a lifesize mannequin in 3D designs to demonstrate the size of fittings and their distance apart. Laura was very receptive to our ideas and guided us through the choice of tiles, flooring, fittings, paint colours. We have been blown away by the transformation.

Sam always worked extremely hard and with tremendous attention to detail to ensure the result matched the design. He was a pleasure to have in the house, working as quietly as possible and tidying up every day. Sam also managed the project smoothly, ensuring the electrician, plasterer and decorator were on site when their skills were needed.

You can tell how much pride Sam and Laura take in their work and this is something that shines out. If you are looking for a reliable, fairly priced and trustworthy company to renovate a bathroom, we would not hesitate to recommend Eximia. You won’t be disappointed."

Bournemouth - Light & Bright Bathroom Makeover

Bathroom makeover in Bournemouth, Dorset

This compact bathroom was completely reimagined to create a brighter, more open space. We replaced the traditional bath with a sleek walk-in shower, featuring striking blue herringbone-effect panels as a bold focal point. A carefully planned rotating glass panel was added to the main shower screen, providing easy access without compromising the clean, minimal look. The toilet was repositioned for better flow and functionality, while the fresh light-toned walls and fittings enhance the feeling of space. Finishing touches in brushed brass and soft textures complete this modern, uplifting transformation.

Customer comments:

"We can't recommend Eximia Bathrooms enough. Sam and Laura deliver the whole package. From measuring the space, discussing our ideas to create a design, sourcing the hardware and project managing the whole fit, including other trades such as an electrician and a decorator. They made everything so easy. The computerised mock ups were outstanding. Being able to stand in the room through virtual reality really gives a detailed idea of the finished product. This allowed for confident little tweaks before finally settling on the finished product. Sam was so friendly and professional whilst working in our home. As were the other contractors he bought in. He kept everything clean and tidied up at the end of each day. The finished bathroom was fantastic. When Eximia Bathrooms say they will create the design down to the smallest detail, they absolutely do."
